“His music invites rather than commands”

Introducing Chris Dreiser

Kris De Ruysscher, known by his stage name Chris Dreiser, is a musician with a gift for creating music that transcends traditional sound, weaving melodies, blurring genre lines, and incorporating elements of classical music, blues, and jazz to create a sound that is uniquely his own.

Born in Belgium, Kris incorporates unusual harmonies, intricate rhythms, and sounds from around the world into his compositions. He draws inspiration from his travels, cultural diversity, and various artistic expressions such as paintings and sculptures to poetry and literature. Chris's music has been featured in documentaries, short-films, installations, and dance performances and his ability to evoke a strong emotional connection with his music has made him a favorite among listeners. His highly emotive works are known to suggest beauty and calmness, and his compositions are often described as mesmerizing with an underlying sadness that is both thought-provoking and evocative.

Chris's journey towards creating a unique sound in contemporary orchestral music composition has been both challenging and rewarding. He believes that arriving at one's distinct sound is a complex process that requires a deep understanding of oneself and a willingness to use personal experiences to craft a unique musical expression. Chris views this process as a transformative journey that requires the integration of one's personality into their work by continuously exploring and pushing boundaries, showcasing his unwavering passion for storytelling.

SHORT BIO: He studied guitar and media composition, worked for symphony orchestras, became a psychologist and currently teaches music theory and guitar in an academy.
